Bonobo, one of my favorite downtempo electronic musicians, releases his newest single, “Cirrus.” Bonobo has a gift for incorporating wonderful acoustic sounds into his digital compositions which creates a very warm intriguing sound. Check it out.
Wildcat! Wildcat! is back with their signature sound on “Please and Thank You.” Though this is only their fourth song ever released, Wildcat! Wildcat! has become one of my favorite groups to come out in the last several years. Check out all of their releases on the Wildcat! Wildcat! Soundcloud page.
Shlohmo releases his newest single of 2013 “Wen Uuu.” Full of chopped female vocals, smooth synths, and funky pitched-percussion Shlohmo finesses “Wen-Uuu” together into a pleasantly smooth electronic track. Check it out.
Without a doubt my favorite album of 2012 is Australian producer Flume’s self titled debut album. Flume’s production is wonderful and seems effortless as you listen through the album finding not one filler track. Below are several of my favorite tracks–check them out. If you like what you hear, it’s available over on I-tunes.
Raekwon lays a couple dope verses onto a smooth beat that samples of Jackson 5′s “Never Can Say Goodbye.” Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. III is rumored to be in production and is expected in 2014.
